Carrier Requirements:

• To ensure that drivers comply with Cargo Securement Regulations and to equip vehicles with appropriate load securement devices.

Driver Requirements:

• To secure loads and/or inspect loads to ensure that adequate securements are in place in accordance with the Regulations.
• To ensure that any equipment carried in or on the vehicle is also secured in accordance with the Regulations.
• To ensure that vehicle entrances and exits, including emergency exits are unobstructed.
• To ensure that any property transported is secured or stored to prevent risk of injury to the driver or any passenger by its falling, displacement or other movement.

This presentation will cover the basic principles of the North American Cargo Security Standards. We will also try and address company specific challenges and load security issues.
